Unhinged Left

Friday, December 26th, 2008

I certainly don’t agree with everything that Dennis Prager writes in this column, but it is absurd to claim that he is in any way, shape or form advocating marital rape, as this Daily Kos diarist does.  There are a lot of nutty diaries started at Daily Kos, but most are mercifully ignored and quickly forgotten by the user community there.  Somehow this “Dennis Prager Endorses Marital Rape” diary has escaped that fate and drawn countless hysterical and brainless comments of approval.

Don’t Be Silly

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Always listen to the man on television:

“Peter writes: ‘Should I be worried about Bear Stearns in terms of liquidity and get my money out of there?’ No! No! No! Bear Stearns is fine! Do not take your money out. … Bear Stearns is not in trouble. I mean, if anything they’re more likely to be taken over. Don’t move your money from Bear! That’s just being silly! Don’t be silly!” —Jim Cramer, responding to a viewer’s e-mail on CNBC’s Mad Money, March 11, 2008

From Another Name-Calling Heathen

Christopher Hitchens on Obama’s selection of Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at his Inauguration:

But if we must have an officiating priest, let it be some dignified old hypocrite with no factional allegiance and not a tree-shaking huckster and publicity seeker who believes that millions of his fellow citizens are hellbound because they do not meet his own low and vulgar standards.

I didn’t bother watching today’s game.  Somehow I just knew.
