January 23rd, 2009I got an email from David Plouffe today, but instead of it being addressed to “Joseph” it was addressed to “Friend”. Whoa, what’s with the iciness, Dave?

There are already too many snarky general purpose political blogs out there, many of which are far more interesting, informative and entertaining than this one (not to mention better maintained). I’m looking for a hook that will make my blog worth reading. It might not necessarily have much or anything to do with politics, but it should be something that piques my interest and gets me excited about writing the next post. Check back for updates.
I certainly don’t agree with everything that Dennis Prager writes in this column, but it is absurd to claim that he is in any way, shape or form advocating marital rape, as this Daily Kos diarist does. There are a lot of nutty diaries started at Daily Kos, but most are mercifully ignored and quickly forgotten by the user community there. Somehow this “Dennis Prager Endorses Marital Rape” diary has escaped that fate and drawn countless hysterical and brainless comments of approval.
This movie works better when seen as a story of the irrational behavior of a severely depressed man as opposed to a story of redemption. I’ll let the professionals hash it out from here.
Somehow I missed this story during the post-election decompression. Will Smith, you need to start dialing it back a few notches. And please feel free to respond to my calling you out by posting a comment here.
Stephen A. thinks the Yankees should sign Manny, which is reason enough to convince me they shouldn’t.
Hank and Hal are breaking the bank, committing roughly $426 million to three free agents over the last 10 days or so. The economy in NYC should suck next year but the baseball should be good.
Always listen to the man on television:
“Peter writes: ‘Should I be worried about Bear Stearns in terms of liquidity and get my money out of there?’ No! No! No! Bear Stearns is fine! Do not take your money out. … Bear Stearns is not in trouble. I mean, if anything they’re more likely to be taken over. Don’t move your money from Bear! That’s just being silly! Don’t be silly!” —Jim Cramer, responding to a viewer’s e-mail on CNBC’s Mad Money, March 11, 2008
Manny Ramirez thinks the Yankees are getting ready to make him an offer.
I guess Matt Yglesias’ blog actually isn’t his blog.
